Selecting the Right Artists: A Business Concept

What does an ideal event require? Exactly—the perfect musical accompaniment. Or, even better: the ideal, captivating entertainment. After all, an inviting atmosphere is key to any event’s success. That’s why event agencies are continually seeking the best artists to deliver to their clients. That’s the day-to-day business, but implementing it can sometimes be difficult. “Event agencies and companies frequently lack the detailed knowledge needed to determine which artists to include in an event, as well as when and how to do so,” says Sandra Büttner, Managing Director of Positivo Music. This insight led her to establish her own artist agency. “There is also a shortage of direct connections to high-caliber artists. This is precisely the gap we are closing with Positivo Music.” And with great success—her portfolio now features over 200 cover bands, solo artists, DJs, and special acts, with which she has successfully completed events for more than 100 clients.

The artist roster was complete, but Sandra was still missing one crucial element: “While building my agency, I spent a long time searching for a company to help me with graphics and website design,” she explains. There was already a website, but it didn’t meet her expectations. Sandra’s mission: The new look and feel that was needed! Sandra clearly outlined her expectations for codafish from the very beginning: the unique aspects and marketing strategies of the artist and entertainment industry needed to be understood, and the project had to be completed as quickly as possible. For the codafish team, this meant: Done and done. The next step after defining the objectives was assessing the requirements and, naturally, creating a project plan. Step 1 of the plan: Selecting the right CMS for Positivo Music’s website. After careful evaluation, they mutually agreed on a classic and long-standing favorite in the CMS world: WordPress.
